Hey!
I am quite new to blogging and hence to start with I will put up some snaps of the paintings I had done almost 10 years back till now. I have two passions in my life - to paint and play football. I have always loved painting but since I was also good at science...I took up studying biological sciences and have been into pharma-biotech research for the past 4 years. I have recently quit my job and I am enjoying my time with some painting and learning this technique called paper quilling. My inspiration for paper quilling has come from my dear friend Shalmali. You can check out her blog http://shalmalipatkar.blogspot.in/ I bought a paper quilling kit (www.shilpi.com) and have made the projects shown in that kit.
The painting on the left was made in 2002 for my friends mom who wanted this painting which was on a greeting card. It is not at all my original and it is just replicated on a bigger chart paper with water colour by me. I do not know who the original painter is and apologize if I have made a bad copy of the same. This picture is not very clear.
This painting was made in 2004 or 2005 for my dad. It is also a replica of a painting published in a calendar. All these paintings were replicated by me just to learn and challenge myself and not for any other purpose.
Later in 2006 I made a Lord Ganesha for my University professor. One of the people I admire. Its with acrylic colours on canvas. Adapted from http://wallpapers.ungalulagam.com/2010/12/lord-ganeshlord-ganesh-photoslord.html
In 2008 I made a Ganesha again, but its oil on canvas adapted from http://www.niloufer.com/ganesha.html.
Next was a year later with my own idea of oil on canvas, a simple one.
That is all till now. In 2008, I began working and did not get any time for art. Now that I have quit my job, I have started learning paper quilling and will upload the small cards that I have made in the upcoming blogs. My next blog would be my love for Joga Bonito, the beautiful game of football!!
